The transition through menopause.

Developing this course has been a passion of mine based on personal curiosity and experiences over the past few years. Simply put, I felt unprepared for the post menopause years and yoga has provided me many positive outcomes as I navigate the joys and challenges of aging.
The content for this course has been developed with influence from professional development courses , connecting with others who support the health of women and a lot of reading to invoke self reflection.

Based on the principles of my Menopause Yoga training with Petra Coveney in the UK, weekly sessions will include a yoga practice, a Women's Circle and time for self reflection.
Guest presenters from complementary modalities will provide education sessions designed to address some of the ways menopause affects the body and lifestyle choices that can be made to support healthy aging.

As a professional educator, I value in person learning communities. Having voice and opportunity in a supportive environment is key to building on previous knowledge, building self-confidence and nurturing relationships built on trust and respect. Additionally, being together adds the opportunity for meeting everyone's learning styles and providing the sheer joy of human interaction!

It is my goal for participants to leave this course with ways to increase their strength, balance and flexibility; manage stress and feel empowered to enjoy their "Second Spring".
With every woman being unique and having varied previous personal experiences, a journal and a resource binder will be provided so participants can start building (or adding to) a personal takeaway "toolkit" for healthy aging.
